Fichtenbestand Westufer
50 year old spruces on the west bank of Lake Belau
The sampling site at the west bank of Belauer See (Lake Belau) extends mainly between the 40-metre and the 50-metre contour line. It is stocked with approximately 50 year-old spruce (Picea abies and Picea sitchensis). The trees are evenly distributed over the area with an approximate distance of 5 metres between the trees. The southern part of the forest grows on three clearly recognizable terrace levels which decline towards the lake. The forest is managed.
